My most recent experience was a stay of 2 or so weeks in C8 - orthopaedics in February. Some of the nurses were lovely. However, the majority of those were from Spain, Portugal or Italy. They were caring and engaged. The other group who were lovely were the slightly older nurses, who obviously viewed their career as more of a vocation. Most of the younger UK ones were lacking in empathy and added nothing to the reputation of Young British nurses. There was a very clear lack of care. To be told, after you have rung your buzzer - in serious need of some pain relief (20 minutes is quite a long time in that situation) that' we do have other patients, you know' does not really improve morale. I am sure you will think , well, why didn't she complain? The fact is that when you are really feeling far from well, that is the last thing on your mind. Ditto with the noise in the corridor at night. Lack of consideration. So more thought and respect of the poor individuals would be my suggestion.
I like the appearance and cleanliness and handling of patients.
Was treated very well. Only down side was when transferred to nearer home, my pain killer and antibiotics information was not sent to the new hospital resulting in 17 hours with these.
An all round good service.
I have just had holmium laser enucleation of prostate done at the Addenbrookes Treatment Centre under the care of Mr Aho and Mr Sut .My operation was done by Mr Sut who was excellent, not only as a surgeon,he was very caring with a very nice bedside manner .All the staff at the ATC were excellent, nothing was too much trouble ,even the small things like being given sips of water through a straw whilst in recovery.
I was privileged to have the gold standard treatment for my condition, whilst being cared for in a first class environment
We travel 50 miles to Addenbrookes and it's worth every mile
My husband had to go to the Day Unit at Addenbrooke's for a surgical procedure. We could not fault the care he received from all the staff on the ward. Everyone was so kind, caring and helpful. Also a big thank you to Mr Double and his team who were brilliant at explaining what they were planning to do before and throughout the time he was undergoing his procedure. All in all a very positive experience. Thank you once again.
During my visits to the nephrology clinic, my operation to provide kidneys transplant, and my recovery period in the ward, I was treated wonderfully by all the nurses, doctors and other staff and nothing was too much trouble for them.
I cannot imagine a better place to treat anybody who is unwell.
A fantastic hospital; expertise in abundance, the cleanest of hospital wards, all the staff were kind and caring. Every time I go to Addenbrooke's I feel totalled looked after and cared for.
I am so glad that I am at patient at Addenbrooke's instead of somewhere else.
Everything was done excellent and give even greater care
Brilliant
